Gravesides service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at Baxter Pittman Family Cemetery in Foxworth for Danny Denson Pittman, 74, of Foxworth, who passed away Monday, January 4, 2021 at Singing River Hospital in Pascagoula. Bro. Earl Lane Turnage will officiate.
Danny Denson “Square” Pittman was born to Sedgie and Ottalie Pittman on June 7, 1946. He was a lifelong resident of the New Hope Community. He loved God, his country, and his family, and he faithfully prayed for all of his family, friends, and neighbors. He was always available to help anyone in need. He was known for his joking and picking. He always left people laughing or smiling. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, building things, discing, bushhogging, mowing, and keeping a dove field ready for all his boys. He also loved sports and loved playing different kinds of ball while he was able.
Danny loved going to church and dearly loved his church family at West Columbia Church of God. This is where he shined playing his bass guitar. He loved music and could play several instruments. His favorite Scripture verse was Romans 8:31, “if God be for you, who can be against you?”
He was preceded in death by his Parents, Sedgie & Ottalie Pittman; three Brothers, David Pittman, Nolan E. Pittman, Terry Pittman; two sisters, Robin McKenzie, Barbara Pittman; his Father-in-law, John Lott; his Mother-in-law, Pauline Lott; one Son-in-law, Tim Goar; one Brother-in-law, Ricky Slocum; one Sister-in-law, Dorothy Pittman; a very special Uncle and Aunt, Billy & Mary Pittman; and “00” Cousin, Gary Slocum.
He is survived by his Wife of 51 years, Reta Lott Pittman; two Sons, Trent Pittman (Nicole), Tyson Pittman (Amanda); one Daughter, Kim Goar; one Sister, Penny Slocum; twelve Grandchildren, Ryan Goar (Mica), John Goar (Baylee), James Goar (Macy), Eli Turnage (Mollie), Maddie Pittman, Layne Pittman, Jillian Pittman, Maggie Pittman, Dannie Pittman, Logan Pittman, Corbin Barber, Emily Pittman; seven Great Grandchildren, Kemily, Karleigh, Kehan, Kaedyn, Oliver, Ivy, and Koen (on the way); three Brothers-in-law, Gary Lott, Garrick Lott (Monica), Thomas McKenzie; “00” Cousins, Darron Slocum, Brent Slocum; and a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and Friends.
Pallbearers will be Trent Pittman, Tyson Pittman, Layne Pittman, Logan Pittman, John Goar, James Goar, Ryan Goar, Kaedyn Goar, Eli Turnage, Will Lewis, and Corbin Barber.
