Maudie Mae Prine

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 3, 2021 at Hathorn Funeral Home in Columbia for Maudie Mae Prine, 79, of Hattiesburg, who passed away Thursday, April 1, 2021. Interment will be at Gates Road Cemetery. Bro. Craig Cluff and Eric Atkinson will officiate. Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 3, 2021 at Hathorn Funeral Home Chapel.

A longtime resident of Marion County, Mrs. Prine loved spending time with her family. An avid reader, she never stopped learning. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, cooking and woodworking. She gave life to two children but mothered many over the years and she will be greatly missed.

Mrs. Prine was preceded in death by her Husband, Cordell Hull Rutland, after 27 years of marriage; and by her second Husband, Charlie Prine; her Father, Roma Delancey; Mother, Fannie Delancey; three Brothers, Roma Delancey Jr., Harold Delancey, and Ford Delancey; and three Sisters, Stella Delancey, Frances Letchworth, and Chrystelle Evans.

She is survived by her Son, Travis Jubel Rutland (Kelly), one Daughter, Stacey Slatton (Mark); three Step Children; three Sisters, Charlotte Howell (Lynn), Jerrine Speights, Dale Ward (Earl); a number of Grand and Great-Grand Children; and a host of Nieces and Nephews.

Pallbearers will be Cody Rutland, Stephen Prine, Damon Lee, Joe Weston, Clay Herndon, Jeffrey Lee.
