Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at New Union Missionary Baptist Church in Columbia for Wannell Davis, 83, of Bassfield, who passed away Friday, February 7, 2025 at Forrest General Hospital. Interment will be at New Union Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Columbia. Bro. Darrin Webb, Bro. Nick Freeman, and Bro. Austin Davis will officiate the services. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Monday, February 10, 2025 at New Union Missionary Baptist Church.
Mrs. Wannell found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved the beauty of flowers, the elegance of peacocks, the thrill of shopping excursions, the excitement of vacations, the sparkle of jewelry, and the uplifting sounds of gospel music. She was a devoted member of New Union Missionary Baptist Church. She loved her family deeply and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her Husband, L. E. Davis; Parents; Semion Dewitt Robbins and Tamar Bell Walters Robbins; Daughter, Nancy Broome; three Brothers, Reece Elbert Robbins, Doye Robbins, Clayton Robbins; two Sisters, Wydell King and Lillie Broom; Great Grandchild, Rustin Eli Dixon.
She is survived by her two Sons, Jackie Davis of Bassfield, and Eric Davis (Donna ) of Bassfield; two Daughters, Brenda Randall (Terry) of Sumrall, Wanda Rawlings (Chris) of Bassfield; ten Grandchildren, Brian Davis (Amber), Savannah Dixon, Haley Freeman (Nick), David Rawlings (Stacey), Coner Rawlings, Todd Davis, Dustin Davis (Amanda), Austin Davis (Kelsey), Erin Riley (Clint), Anna Shelton (Blake); four Brothers, Willis Robbins, Jerry Robbins (Mary Francis), Kent Robbins and Grady Robbins (Katherine); nineteen Great Grandchildren, Ryan Williamson, Wesley Williamson, Marley Herrington, Noah Rawlings, Gabrielle Rawlings, Callon Freeman, Beau Riley, Brody Riley, Garrett Davis, Marley Davis, Emery Davis, Walker Davis, Hattie Davis, Laurel Davis, Tanler Dixon, Brice Dixon, Jaden McKenzie, Laken McKenzie and Maiya Rawlings; and a host of Nieces, Nephews and Friends.
Pallbearers will be Brian Davis, Todd Davis, David Rawlings, Dustin Davis, Coner Rawlings, Austin Davis, Blake Shelton, and Clint Riley.
The family would like to express their gratitude to her sitters, Mrs. Geneva Graves, Mrs. Kathy Holland, Mrs. Avery Graves, and Mrs. Subrina Yates, for the love and care they provided throughout Mrs. Wannell's sickness.
