Obituary

A memorial  service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, May 24, 2024 at Hathorn Funeral Home in Columbia for Wanda Dyess Graham (Wendy), of Baton Rouge, who passed away Saturday, May 11, 2024 at Carpenter House Hospice Center. Rev. Hubert Dyess will officiate the services.  Visitation will be held from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm on Friday, May 24, 2024 at Hathorn Funeral Home.

Wendy died after an extensive battle with various significant health issues. Wendy was born in Columbia, MS and attended Improve High School where she played on the basketball team. She went on to graduate from The University of Southern Mississippi majoring in English. She retired from the Internal Revenue Service in 1993 and then worked as a Tax Specialist for Jackson Hewitt Tax Service for over 20 years. She was an avid gardener and at one point cared for more than 90 different types of flowers on her property. She was fiercely independent, witty and highly intelligent.

She is preceded in death by her parents Betty Lois Dyess and Rossie Dyess, her brother Chris Dyess and grandson Ty Fairley.

She is survived by brothers Hubert and Edward Dyess, sister Janis Bozeman, son Erik Fairley, daughter Lauren Cascio, son in law Johnathan Cascio, grandchildren Paislie Fairley, Carter Fairley and Kelsey Cascio, niece Shannon Bozeman and nephew Troy Bozeman.
