Wanda was a cornerstone of faith and grace, a true Southern Christian lady who walked through life with an unwavering love for the Lord. A dedicated member of Foxworth First Baptist Church, she lived by a code of high morals and a selfless spirit, always remaining slow to anger and quick to forgive. She found her greatest earthly joys in the beauty of the Smoky Mountains and the vibrant bloom of purple flowers, a color that perfectly matched her gentle soul. Ever the picture of elegance, Wanda took great pride in her outward appearance, presenting her best self to the world. While she leaves behind a legacy of grace and kindness, her only lingering regret was that she would not be here to watch her beloved great-granddaughter, CeCe, grow up and have a family of her own.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Louis Barber; Mother, Mary Lucille Langston Barber; two Brothers, Benny J. Barber, Kennith Barber; two Sisters, Elois Summers (Clinton), Mary Nell Fortenberry (Dick); Sister-In-Law, Sharon Barber.
She is survived by her two Daughters, Misty Broom Myrick (Michael) of Hattiesburg, MS and Stacy Broom Tanksley of Columbia, MS; two Brothers, Harril Barber and Wayne Barber; three Sisters, Elaine Crain (Harold), Carolyn Barber and Carol Barber; Grandchild, Carly Morgan Dunaway (Daniel); Great Grandchild, Cecilia CeCe Dunaway; A host of nephews, nieces, and friends; two Sisters-In-Law, Bobbie Barber and Judy Barber.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Dunaway, Evan Barber, Bradley Crain, Heath Crain, Mitch Barber, and Clay Broom. Honorary pallbearers will be Chet Summers, Randy Summers, Perry Fortenberry, Greg Fortenberry, Johnny Fortenberry, Brett Fortenberry, Shawn Barber, Zane Barber, Mark Barber, Brian Barber, Chris Barber, Casey Barber, and Reggie Williamson.
