A Graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, July 29, 2020 at Good Hope Baptist Church Cemetery in Columbia for Wain W. Speights, 75, of Columbia, who passed away Sunday, July 26, 2020. Bros. Denny Patterson & Justin Cameron will officiate. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Wednesday, July 29, 2020 at Good Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.
As a long-time resident of Marion County, Wain was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church. After spending thirty years as an Oilfield Mechanic for Exxon, he retired to tend to the garden he loved, as well as enjoy his love for hunting, fishing, and riding his tractor.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, Stephen Ellis & Geneva Speights; five Sisters, Ann Bryant, Minnie Nell Douglas, Edna Earl Magee, Fannie Mae Delancey, Carrie Speights; and three Brothers, Dewitt Speights, John D. Speights, Ellis Daniel Speights.
He is survived by his Wife of fifty-three years, Betty Speights, of Columbia; his Son, Greg Speights (Kerri), of Dallas, Texas; his Daughter, Tonya Speights, of Columbia; two Sisters, Helen Crout, of Columbia, Muriel McCain, of Columbia; four Grandchildren, Tyler Speights, of Dallas, Texas, Brandon Speights, of Dallas, Texas, Stephen James Tolar, of Columbia, Brooke Speights, of Dallas, Texas; and one Special Brother-in-law, James Bryant, of Columbia.
Pallbearers will be Dan Speights, Ron Stringer, Tommy Graves, Tom Speights, George McCain, John Webster, Greg Manton, and Wesley Bass. Honorary pallbearers will be Stephen James Tolar, Brandon Speights, and Tyler Speights.
