Graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at Woodlawn Cemetery in for Mary Vivian Neal, 88, of Columbia, who passed away Sunday, December 5, 2021. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery (weather permitting). Pastor Mike Ewoldt will officiate. Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at Hathorn Funeral Home.

Mrs. Vivian was a long-time resident of Marion County and an avid reader. She was a faithful member to River of Life Church in Hattiesburg. She went back to college with a husband working off shore, four children at home, and devoted 25 years as a nurse in Columbia and New Orleans. She played a vital role in assisting family and friends to come and stay with her, and she fed many people / strangers at her kitchen table. She and her husband, Bob, mentored teenagers from all different backgrounds, and demonstrated guidance and love, which has made a lasting impact..

Mrs. Neal was preceded in death by her Husband, Bob Neal; her Parents Sherman Kyzar and Grace Wilson Kyzar; one Son, Russell Neal; one Daughter, Rebecca Neal; one Daughter in Law, Melinda Neal.

She is survived by her Daughter, Ramona Brumfield; one Son, Paul Neal; one Daughter in Law. Buffy Neal; three Grandsons, Douglas Neal (Carrie), Michael Brumfield (Anna), Steven Neal (Emily); nine Great Grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Douglas Neal, Steven Neal, Zane Neal, Michael Brumfield, Caleb McLain, Tanner Graves, Drew McDaniel and Bobby Davis.
