Virginia Marcelle Broome Warren

Virginia Marcelle Broome Warren, born July 20, 1940, passed away peacefully at the age of 86 on Friday, September 18, 2026, in Keller, TX. She was born and raised in Columbia, MS, and graduated from Columbia High School before graduating from the University of Mississippi Medical Center to become an X-ray technician. After a brief time in Pascagoula, MS, the family moved to Baton Rouge, LA, where she worked the overnight shift at Earl K. Long Hospital for 20 years until her retirement. Her time there brought countless memorable stories. In Baton Rouge, she became a proud member of Broadmoor Baptist Church and formed many lifelong friendships.

After retiring, she embraced her love for travel, journeying often and eventually settling in Keller, TX, to be near her grandchildren, where she lived for the rest of her life. When she wasn’t traveling, she loved crocheting and was exceptionally skilled at her craft.

She is survived by her daughter, Allison Warren Moreland (David) of Keller, TX; her son, Jack Warren, Jr. (Stacey) of Baton Rouge, LA; her grandchildren, Robert Moreland (Rilee) of Keller, TX, and Alissa Moreland of Keller, TX; and her brother, Roger Dale Broome (Hilda) of Mobile, AL. Other notable relatives she loved dearly include her sister-in-law, Barbara Rochinski Broome of Baton Rouge, LA; her nieces, Amy Broome Fortner of Austin, TX, and Rebecca Broome of Baton Rouge, LA; and her nephews, Roger Broome, Jr. of Mobile, AL, and Randy Broome of Vicksburg, MS.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey Melvin Broome and Lucille Bennett Broome, and her brother, Norman David Broome.

Graveside services will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery in Columbia, MS, at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 3, 2026.
