A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at Hathorn Funeral Home in Columbia for Susan Beard, 77, of Gretna, who passed away Monday, August 28, 2023 at West Jefferson Memorial Hospital. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Columbia. Bro. Chris Turnage will officiate the services.  Visitation will be held from 9:00 until 10:00 am on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at Hathorn Funeral Home.

Susan was a fun-loving person that loved to cook and entertain family and friends.  Family was a big part of her life. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren very much.  Susan will be dearly missed by everyone.

She was preceded in death by her father, L F Beard; mother, Mary Ann Gaccione Beard.

She is survived by her son, Lee Stringer (Shannon) of Covington, LA; daughter, Kim Campbell (Christopher) of Mandeville, LA; four grandchildren, Kristen Payan (Ben), Christopher Campbell, Jr., Courtney Buras and Mason Stringer; Sister, Diane Lawrence; three Great grandchildren, Bennett Payan, Jax Payan and Brynn Payan; and a host of nephews and nieces.

Pallbearer will be Christopher Campbell Jr. Honorary pallbearer will be Bennett Payan.
