Funeral services will be held at 5:00 pm on Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at Hathorn Funeral Home in Columbia for Steven Paul Lack, 71, of Columbia, who passed away Sunday, June 29, 2025 at his residence. Rev. Stephen Binion will officiate the services.
The Lack family will receive friends on Wednesday afternoon from 3:00 pm up until the hour of service at 5:00 pm at Hathorn Funeral Home.
Steven was a proud Vietnam War veteran. His life was marked by dedicated service and heartfelt passions. He honorably served his country in the United States Army, earning a Purple Heart for his bravery, and remained a devoted member of the American Legion. In his earlier years, Steven discovered a profound love for deer hunting, a passion lovingly introduced to him by his beloved Frances. His appreciation for the outdoors extended to fishing and tending to his garden, where he could often be found from dawn till dusk, his hands always busy. This industrious spirit also found expression in woodworking, a craft he pursued with enthusiasm. Steven will be remembered for his unwavering desire to give and help others.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, Frank & Iona Gowanda Franks Lack; one Brother, Karl Lack; two Sisters, Shirley Pugh, Marilyn Latham; and one Great Grandchild, Baby Paisely.
He is survived by his Wife of thirty-nine years, Frances Williamson Lack, of Columbia; his Son, Paul Lack (Angie), of Lexington, Oklahoma; his Daughter, Amber Lack Williams (Bobby), of Columbia; four Grandchildren, Taylor Messina, of Oklahoma, Phoebe Messina, of Oklahoma, Zoie Lack, of Oklahoma, Trenton Williams, of Columbia; six Great Grandchildren; two Nephews, Chris Pugh (Karla), of Oregon, Michael Latham, of Oklahoma; and two Nieces, Stephanie Lattig (Andy), of Washington, Beth Madland (Will), of Minnesota.
