August 20, 1945 – August 30, 2023
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, September 02, 2023 at Woodlawn Church in Columbia for Stephen Henry Kluka, 78, of Columbia, who passed away Wednesday, August 30, 2023. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Columbia. Pastor Jerron Carney and Rev. Stephen Binion will officiate the services. Rev. Justin Conway will provide special music. Visitation will be held from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm on Saturday, September 2, 2023 at Woodlawn Church.
Mr. Kluka was a family man and devoted father. His field of work encompassed, crane mechanics, and equipment logistics. Mr. Kluka was passionate about his work, so much that he tried to retire three times, finally succeeding on his fourth attempt. He loved being outdoors, hunting, fishing and gardening. Mr. Kluka served our great nation in the Navy during the Vietnam War. In his earlier years, he really enjoyed serving as a Deacon and a boy scout leader for the Pentecostal Church in York, Pennsylvania. For the last 20 years he was a faithful member of Woodlawn Church.
He was preceded in death by his Spouse, Margaret Booty Kluka; Daughter, Sara Kluka; Father, Steve Kluka, Sr.; Mother, Betty Jane Darr Kluka; two Brothers, Robert Buster Kluka and Tommy Kluka.
He is survived by his Daughter, Yolanda Donley; Brother, Johnny Kluka; Sister, Susan Bixler; Cousin, Pamela McHale.
Pallbearers will be Kerry Gibson, Rene Gibson, Renard Gibson, Chris Bracey, Murphy Manton, Mike Wallace, Keith Helton and Jeff Posey. Honorary pallbearers will be Ken Carney, Hoyt Crane, Harrell Griffis, William Peak, Cleave Peak, Clyde Clark and Johnny Graham.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Steve Kluka's name for Tupelo Childrens Mansion and St. Judes Hospital for Children.
