Funeral services will be held at 10:00am on Monday, April 03, 2023 at Hathorn Funeral Home in Columbia for Stephanie Jane Brown, 49, of Hattiesburg, who passed away Thursday, March 30, 2023 at Asbury Hospice House. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Columbia. Dr. Bryant Barnes will officiate the services. Clinton Davis and Merika Kalman will provide special music. Visitation will be held from 9:00am until 10:00am on Monday, April 3, 2023 at Hathorn Funeral Home.

Stephanie was a longtime resident of Columbia, and she was a first chair flute player throughout her high school and college years.  As a member of First Baptist Church of Columbia, she served as Secretary for the First Baptist Church Daycare and Preschool. As a member of the Marion Chapter #94 of the Order of the Eastern Star, she served as Worthy Matron and Grand Ruth for the Mississippi Grand Chapter. Her hobbies included traveling with her family, reading, and she was an avid nativity collector.  Stephanie will be missed by all who knew her.

During the past couple of weeks, the family has been overwhelmed by the outpouring of Prayers and support from the community. These acts of kindness are greatly appreciated.

She was preceded in death by her Father, Louis Marion Fortenberry.

She is survived by her Husband, Russell Brown of Columbia, MS; Daughter, Tessa Brown of Columbia, MS; Mother, Dot McKenzie Fortenberry of Columbia, MS; Half Brother, Jody Fortenberry (Danielle) of Oxford, MS.

Pallbearers will be Zachary Brown, Jerry Davis, Don Brown, Kasey Flowers, Michael Thornhill, and Gary Molison
