Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, May 8, 2026, at Hathorn Funeral Home in Columbia for Shirley Rose Herrin Dunaway, 89 of Sumrall, who passed away Wednesday, May 6, 2026. Interment will be at Rocky Branch Cemetery in Sumrall. Bro. Richard Magee, Bro. George Moore, Bro. Bill Morris, and Bro. Robert Arinder will officiate the services. Mitch Moore will provide special music.

The Dunaway family will receive guests on Friday Morning from 11:00 am up until the hour of service at 1:00 pm at Hathorn Funeral Home in Columbia.

She was preceded in death by her Husband, Alvie Dunaway; her Parents; John Shirley Herrin & Juanita Williamson Herrin; Brother, Horace Herrin; Sister, Ruth Joyce McKenzie;

She is survived by 3 Sons, Terry Dunaway (Brenda); Tony Dunaway; Ted Dunaway (Sabrina).

1Sister, Charree Moore (George); 4 Grandchildren, Jeremy Dunaway (Larissa); Jamie McMurry (Colton); Scarlett Dunaway; and Samuel Dunaway. 3 Great Grandchildren, Levi Dunaway, Easton Dunaway, Rhett Dunaway.

Mrs. Dunaway will be carried to her final resting place by those honored to serve as Pallbearers; Jeremy Dunaway, Colton McMurry, Mike Moore, Mitch Moore, Logan Dunn, Wade McKenzie.
