June 20, 1947 – December 3, 2023
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at Sunny Hill Pentecostal Church in Purvis for Shirley Jean Boone, 76, of Purvis, who passed away Sunday, December 3, 2023. Interment will be at Boone Cemetery in Purvis. Rev. Jeffery Jones and Rev. Kelly Patrick will officiate the services. Rev. Kelly Patrick & Sonja Baker will provide special music. Visitation will be held from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at Sunny Hill Pentecostal Church.
Shirley grew up in and spent most of her life in Lamar County. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a faithful prayer warrior, and she and her husband, Jimmy raised their children to be in church regularly. Shirley was a song leader for many years and currently a Sunday School teacher at Sunny Hill Pentecostal Church. As a CNA, Shirley had a heart for the elderly and cared for them in their time of need. Gracie, her loving dog, held a special place in her heart. Shirley loved puzzles, shopping, road trips, and was a fabulous seamstress & cook.
She was preceded in death by her Husband of 57 years, Jimmy Boone; her Father, Thomas Virgil McGill; her Mother, Audie Mae Malley McGill; and two Sisters, Diane Sanchez, Audie Mae McGill.
She is survived by her four Daughters, Deborah Chase, of Ocean Springs, Tina Anderson (Kelly), of Hattiesburg, Vicki Bullock (Jeff), of Hattiesburg, Tonya Goodwin (Lawrence), of Purvis; three Brothers, Thomas McGill (Priscilla), of Lumberton, James McGill (Nell), of Columbia, Homer McGill (Mavis), of Columbia; thirteen Grandchildren; thirteen Great Grandchildren; and two Brothers-In-Law, Scott Boone, of Purvis, David Boone, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Pallbearers will be Jesse Jenkins, Clay Jenkins, James Jenkins, Kelly Anderson, Keith Langheld, and Michael Shriver.
