Obituary

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, February 23, 2020 at Hathorn Funeral Home in Columbia for Samuel Allen Sistrunk, 73, of Columbia, who passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at Asbury Hospice House in Hattiesburg. Interment will be at Pine Burr Church of the Lord Jesus Christ Cemetery in Columbia. Bro. J.R. Hartfield and Bro. Brad Eubank will officiate. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Saturday, February 22, 2020 and from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Sunday, February 23, 2020 all at Hathorn Funeral Home.

As a lifelong resident of Marion County, Allen was a hardworking father employed by Griner Drilling Service for thirty plus years. He had a way of showing the people he loved how much they meant to him. His children all saw him as the strongest man they had ever known. Family knew not to call after 7:00 pm because Allen loved watching old Western shows as well as Wrestling.

He was preceded in death by his Parents, James & Martha Sistrunk; his Wife of 36 years, Pamela Sistrunk; two Brothers, William Lavon Sistrunk, Paul Sistrunk; and one Grandchild, Shawn Martin.

He is survived by four Daughters, Lynn Colvin (John), of Petal, Trish Richoux (Wesley), of Kingsland, Georgia, Priscilla Sistrunk, of Hattiesburg, Sarah Martin (Robert), of Purvis; one Son, Sammy Sistrunk (Christina), of Hattiesburg; three Brothers, Frankie Sistrunk (Faye), of Lumberton, Ricky Sistrunk, of Columbia, Reggie Sistrunk (Rita), of Columbia; four Sisters, Paulene Raynes, of Columbia, Nell McGill (James), of Columbia, Teresa Peak (Kenneth), of Columbia, Rita Henderson (Earl), of Columbia; one Sister-in-law, Beverly Sistrunk, of Columbia; fifteen Grandchildren, Casey Jones, Shelby Jones, Nathan Richoux (Molley), Brooke Richoux, Annie Sistrunk, Cody Saul, R.J. Martin, Hannah Martin, Kylee Martin, Lilly Martin, Coby Hinckley, Mackenzie Sistrunk, James Sistrunk, Morgan Testa (Anthony), Faith Miller; and four Great Grandchildren, Kimber Testa, Carsyn Testa, Freya Testa, Athena Testa.

Pallbearers will be Michael Fimiano, Konnor Hitson, Dillon Mitchell, Billy Peak, Bradley Peak, Brandon Peak, and Johnny Peak. Serving as an Honorary Pallbearer will be Shane Sistrunk.
