Russell
Mcallister
September 3, 1961 – April 24, 2023
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm on Friday, April 28, 2023 at Society Hill Baptist Church in Oak Vale, for John Russell McAllister, 61, of Oak Vale, who passed away Monday, April 24, 2023. Interment will be at Society Hill Cemetery. Rev. Paul Young will officiate the services. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm on Friday, April 28, 2023 at Society Hill Church Cemetery.
Russell's life philosophy would be, "I ain't here for a long time, but I'm here for a good time." He was all about cars, trucks, tractors, motorcycles, anything that goes, bang, boom, pow, crash, zoom-vroom or udin-udin. Russell was all about music, as well as, Rock N Roll, man!! Rock was his jam and cool was his thing. He WAS Rock N Roll. He was that guy that all of the epic rock songs are talking about.
Russell was an adventurer, a cowboy, and a true Southerner in every way. He loved our great state of Mississippi, the Old West, all things Civil War (a card carrying son of the Confederacy), a picker of old things, and old school all the way.
Russell was lovably annoying, mischievous and cantankerous. He had ceaseless jokes and burns. He had the disposition of a teddy bear, but the temper and bite of a grizzly bear. He was beyond loyal, helpful, and devoted to his family, friends, and community.
He was the best at cheering you up, making you laugh, helping you out, and on occasion, pissing you off. No matter how mad, mean, adventurous, restless, reckless, lazy, stubborn, or playful mood, Russell McAllister was in, if you were family, friend…or even family's friend…family's friend twice removed, then you could count on him for ANYTHING….as long as you asked nicely. He will be missed and never ever forgotten.
He was preceded in death by his Father, John D. McAllister; Mother, Ruby L. McAllister.
He is survived by his Son, Josh McAllister; one Sister, Neva McAllister; one Granddaughter, Cheyenne McAllister; his Soulmate, Loretta Jordan.
Pallbearers will be Josh McAllister, Tim Bradshaw, Jake Bradshaw, Randy McAllister, Kevin Baldwin, Charles McNeese, Jacob Beard and David Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be Robbie Temples, Dale Nelson
