Rodger was born on March 26, 1951, in Marion County. A devoted family man, he loved his family deeply and especially treasured the time spent together. He enjoyed camping with family and friends several times each year, creating many special memories along the way. Rodger was also known for his remarkable work ethic. He devoted 47 years to Griner Drilling in Columbia, working his way up to become a supervisor over water well operations before his retirement. Regardless of the weather or how he may have felt, he could always be counted on to show up and do his job—a true example of faithfulness and dedication. Away from work, some of his happiest moments were spent fishing with his wife, Katherine, and, in their younger years, the two also enjoyed hunting together. He loved gardening as well, taking great pride in growing vegetables and generously sharing the fruits of his labor with others.

He was preceded in death by his Parents, George Ottis Beach and Marie Sistrunk Beach. He is survived by his Wife of 55 years, Katherine Smith Beach, of Columbia; two Sons, Bradley Beach, of Columbia, Micheal Beach, of Columbia; six Grandchildren, Tia Beach Ward (Michael), of Purvis, Cody Beach, of Columbia, Leia Beach, of Columbia, Kaidance Tucker, of Tennessee, Alyssa Barrett (Patrick), of Carson, Jacob Sistrunk, of Columbia; six Great Grandchildren, Oliver McCaa, of Purvis, Avery McCaa, of Purvis, Myah Ward, of Pearl River, Lucas Ward, of Pearl River, Alana Ward, of Pearl River, Jayda Ward, of Slidell, Louisiana; and two Great Great Grandchildren, Noah and Iris, of Slidell, Louisiana.
