A Graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, August 20, 2021 at Morgantown Cemetery for Robert Ellis Stephens, 91, of Sumrall, who passed away Sunday, August 15, 2021 at Merit Health Wesley in Hattiesburg. Bros. Brad Stephens and Tyler Ferguson will officiate the service.

Robert grew up in the Pine Burr community of Marion County. He enjoyed farming and working outdoors. He spent twenty years as a mechanic with an oil field service, The Western Company of North America. Robert loved his family and had a deep love for his Lord. He was preceded in death by Wife, Oleese Stephens; his Parents, Richard & Fannie McMillan Stephens; a Step-daughter, Landis Cook; two Brothers, W.S. Stevens, Horace Stephens; and one Sister, Mary Fortenberry.

He is survived by two Nephews, Charlie Stephens (Latrice), of Sumrall, Cotton Stephens (Betty), of Sumrall; one Niece, Linda Warren (Jessie, Sr.), of Seminary; one Sister-in-law, Rhelda Easterling (Jimmy), of Natchez; two Step-granddaughters, Kim Gingell, of Columbia, Karla Dunn, of Columbia; Close Friends, Ken & Wanda Morgan, of Morgantown; and a Number of Grand Nieces, Grand Nephews, and Friends.

Pallbearers will be Tim Lindsey, Chris Ryals, Lee Sanford, Jerry Warren, and Jessie Warren, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Lewis Wayne Batson, Jimmy Easterling, and Steven Sanford.
