Funeral services will be held at 4:00 pm on Sunday, April 02, 2023 at Woodlawn Church in Columbia for Robert G. Phelps, Sr., 78, of Foxworth, who passed away Thursday, March 30, 2023 Interment will be at Lott Cemetery in Foxworth. Pastor Jerron Carney, Rev. Stephen Binion and Rev. Jerry Terrell will officiate the services.  Visitation will be held from 2:30 pm until 4:00 pm on Sunday, April 2, 2023 at Woodlawn Church.

Robert was born and raised in Magnolia (Pike County), MS where he lived with his parents and nine siblings. Growing up, he was a member of Guiding Light Church. Robert and Faye were married on October 1, 1964, and raised three children together. Eventually moving to Foxworth (Marion County), MS, Robert and Faye spent the last 50 years in the New Hope community. He was an active member of Woodlawn Church and dedicated over 50 years to truck driving. Anyone who spent a small amount of time with Robert knew that he loved his family, his friends, and most importantly Jesus.

He was preceded in death by his Father, Ernest Phelps; Mother Zellie Phelps; three Brothers, Billy Phelps, Edgar Phelps, Earl Phelps; five Sisters, Rosalee Mote, Dorothy Ready, Rena Mae Dreeszen, Patricia Jasper, Carolyn Brown.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Faye Davis Phelps; three Children, Melissa Bennett (Nathan), Robert "Robbie" Phelps, Jr. (Lana), Greg Phelps (Kayla); one Brother, Obie Phelps (Brenda); three Grandsons, Justin Bennett (Shanna), Ryder Phelps, Amos Neal; four Granddaughters; Kaitlin Burrell (Allen), Addison Phelps, Sydney Phelps, Chloe Phelps and five Great Grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Justin Bennett, Allen Burrell, Doug Brooks, Tracy Vince, Cole Forbes, Justin Bates.  Honorary pallbearers will be Keith Stringer, Johnny Graham, Skeeter Stuckey, Ken Carney, Steve Kluka.
