A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, December 26, 2022,  at Pearl River Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Sandy Hook for Raymond Lamar Scruggs, 42, of Sandy Hook, who passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at Merit Health Wesley. Interment will be at Pearl River Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Sandy Hook, MS. Bro. Jessie Ladner and Bro. Joseph Ladner will officiate the services.

Raymond graduated from West Marion High School in 1999.  He graduated from Antonelli College in 2009 as valedictorian. He enjoyed growing plants and was known for his exceptional "green thumb." He loved his dogs Greta, Wilbur, and Truman.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jimmy Scruggs; grandparents, James and Florine Scruggs, and Ray and Gladys Brown.

He is survived by his husband, Brian Hudson; mother, Tommie Brown Scruggs; brothers, Russell Scruggs (Brittney), Jessie Jones (Stephanie); sisters, Denise Ladner (Joseph), Falisa Bourgeois (Duane); nieces, Molly Stringer, Katherine Ladner, Kaylie Hatten; nephews, Jase Ladner, Drew Hatten, and Doug Hatten. He is also survived by a special aunt Wanda Brown.
