Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at Hathorn Funeral Home in Columbia for Prentiss A. Pritchard, 84, of Columbia, who passed away Saturday, December 14, 2019 at his residence. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery. Bro. Glen Freeman and Bro. Reed Houston will officiate. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Monday, December 16, 2019 at Hathorn Funeral Home.
As a longtime resident of Marion County, Prentiss owned and operated a grocery store for 35 years in Columbia. His family will always cherish the memories of his love for watching wrestling with his Great Grandson as well as his beloved New Orleans Saints. Prentiss was a faithful member of Chapel of the Cross United Methodist Church in Columbia.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, Mermon & Clora Pritchard; one Brother, Lee Pritchard; and two Sisters, Ida Mae Sullivan, Mary Harbour.
He is survived by his Wife, Emma B. Pritchard, of Columbia; one Daughter, Deborah Mauldin (Randy), of Columbia; two Sons, Mark Pritchard, of Freeport, Florida, Billy Carter (Linda), of Pike Road, Alabama; two Sisters, Elaine Lumpkin, of Quinlan, Texas, Martha Pettit (Boots), of Houston, Mississippi; four Grandchildren, Addison Mauldin (Jessica), of New Market, Alabama, Amber West (Jordan), of Ocean Springs, Matthew Carter, of Pike Road, Alabama, Amanda Johnson (Daniel), of Auburn, Alabama; and two Great Grandchildren, Braelyn Mauldin, of New Market, Alabama, Jenson Mauldin, of New Market, Alabama.
Pallbearers will be Matthew Carter, Daniel Johnson, Addison Mauldin, Randy Mauldin, Jordan West, and Mike White. Honorary Pallbearers will be Emmett Broom, Ken Knopp, Reuben McDowell, Joe McNeese, Rob Scheppers, and Mitchell Welch.
