Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at Bunker Hill Baptist Church in Columbia, Mississippi for Phillip G. Hitt, 84 of Columbia, MS, who passed away Friday, March 4, 2022. Interment will be at New Bunker Hill Cemetery in Columbia. Rev. Randy Gardner will officiate the services. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at Bunker Hill Baptist Church in Columbia.
Mr. Hitt lived a full and incredible life of 84 years. His wife, Connie, was his best friend. He loved her, his Children, and his Grandchildren immensely. He served our great nation overseas and homeland for 23 years in the United State Air Force and United States Army. Mr. Hitt was such a positive person and truly enjoyed life. He was a faithful member of Bunker Hill Baptist Church. He was known for making some of the best chicken and dumplings all over Mississippi far and wide. Everything he put his mind to…he did. He will be greatly missed by his friends, family, and all that took part in his life.
He was preceded in death by his Parents; Moody H. Hitt and Alberta T. Hitt; and two Sisters, Faye Langford, Jackie Locker.
He is survived by his Wife of 50 years, Connie M. Hitt, of Columbia; two Sons, Gordon G. Hitt, of Columbus, Ohio, Phillip G. Hitt, Jr., of Biloxi; one Daughter Gwendalina M. Stelly, of Lafayette, Louisiana; four Brothers, Charles Hitt (Joyce), Tim Hitt (Dottie), Ricky Hitt (Janet), Mike Hitt (Sally); two Sisters, Gary Andrews, Peggy Robbins (Ken); two Grandchildren, Eric Hitt, Alexandria Stelly.
Pallbearers will be Chris Hitt, Huey Hitt, Isaac Hitt, Eric Andrews, Jackson Wilks, and Landon Wilks. Jamie Robinson will serve as an Honorary Pallbearer.
