Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at New Hope Baptist Church in Foxworth for Percy McCain, 85, of Nacogdoches, TX, who passed away Sunday, November 14, 2021 at his residence. Interment will be at Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Jerry Watts, Bro. Melvin Porter, and Bro. Perry McCain will officiate. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday, November 19, 2021 at New Hope Baptist Church.
Mr. Percy grew up in Foxworth and was a graduate of Columbia High School. He attended Pearl River Community College, and graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi. He served our nation faithfully as a member of the United States Army and then went on to work for Humble Oil, which later became Exxon. His career led him to Alaska, and retirement allowed him to work with the Houston Baptist Missions. Mr. Percy moved back to Marion County and enjoyed 11 years of his retirement before settling with family in Nacogdoches, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Polie and Mary McCain; brothers, Clarence McCain and Clinton McCain.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Barbara Williamson McCain of Nacogdoches, TX; sons, Perry Arthur McCain (Mary) of Nacogdoches, TX, Gary Andrew McCain of Conroe, TX, Larry Wayne McCain of Conroe, TX; daughter, Mary Ann Brown (Donald) of Nacogdoches, TX; brother, Clifford McCain; grandchildren, Paul Brown (Alyssa), Peter McCain, Helen McCain, Katelyn McCain; great-granddaughter, on the way; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Pallbearers will be Paul Brown, Larry McCain, Helen McCain, Matthew McCain, Jimmy McCain, Duwane Brumfield, David Scarborough, and David Sifuentes.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Jimmy Thomas's Men's Sunday School Class.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be sent to the New Hope Baptist Church Homebound Ministry. 508 New Hope Church Rd., Foxworth, MS 39483.
