Peggy was a devoted mother and beloved member of her community. She lived a life rich in caring for others. For over four decades, Peggy was a nurturing presence as a NICU and Labor & Delivery nurse, touching the lives of countless families during their most vulnerable and precious moments. Her deep love for her family and community was often expressed through her passion for baking; her homemade goodies and treats were legendary, earning her the affectionate nickname "the Candy Lady" from her younger relatives. An amazing mother, Peggy was known for her unwavering strength and endless support, always dedicated to her children's well-being. She will be profoundly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her warmth and generosity.
She was preceded in death by her Father, Claude Shelton Creel; one Brother, Jim Creel; and one Sister, Tammy Rutland.
She is survived by her Husband, Bill Sanford, of Hattiesburg; her Son, Andrew Sanford, of Hattiesburg; her Daughter, Mallory Broom, of Hattiesburg; her Mother, Veta Mae Green Creel, of Columbia; four Brothers, Prentiss Creel, of Columbia, Jessie Creel, of Columbia, Tim Creel (Becky), of Columbia, John Creel, of Columbia; one Sister, Debbie Reed (Jay), of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and a number of Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins.
