Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at Hathorn Funeral Home in Columbia for Peggy Ray, 65, of Columbia, who passed away Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at Merritt Health in Hattiesburg. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Columbia. Rev. Ralph Sanford will officiate the services.  Visitation will be held from 9:30 am until 10:30 am on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at Hathorn Funeral Home.

With loving hearts, we remember and celebrate the life of Peggy, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose kindness, strength, and unwavering love touched everyone who knew her.

She will be remembered for her generous spirit, her quiet strength, and the way she always put others before herself.  Whether through a comforting word, a shared meal, or simply being there when someone needed her, she showed love through her actions every day.

She was preceded in death by her Husband, Edward Ray;  Father,  John  Buster  Powell;  three Sisters, Betty  Stewart, Carolyn Graham, Lawanda  Boudreaux.

She is survived by her  Daughter, Kathryn Ray  (Jason Showalter); Son, Edward  Ray; Mother, Emily  Louise Jones  Powell;  Sister, Lela Smith;  two Grandchildren, Tiffany  Myrick (Austin) and Jared  Ray  (Angel);  two Great Grandchildren, James  Myrick and Jacee Myrick;  two Nephews, John  Boudreaux and Jacob  Boudreaux;  three Nieces, Penny Waldrup (Kevin), Debra Hilbun (Greg) and Heather Glover (Jonathan);  Brother-In-Law, Dewayne Boudreaux.

Pallbearers will be Wyatt Burge, Jacob Boudreaux, John Boudreaux, Jared Ray, Dewayne Boudreaux, and Austin Myrick. Honorary pallbearers will be James Myrick, Karter Glover, and Jonathan Glover.
