Peggy Joyce Turnage

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, September 10, 2026 at Hathorn Funeral Home in Columbia for Peggy Joyce Turnage, 69, of Columbia, who passed away Tuesday, September 8, 2026. Interment will follow at Caney Baptist Church Cemetery in Columbia. Peggy's son, Rev. Allen Turnage, will officiate the services.

The Turnage family will receive guests on Wednesday evening from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Hathorn Funeral Home in Columbia.

Born on December 5, 1956, Peggy was a longtime resident of Marion County. She spent many years caring for others and retired from her work as a caregiver. Peggy had an upbeat personality and was always full of energy. She had a caring heart, loved making others happy, and often put the needs of others before her own. More than anything, she loved her grandchildren and treasured the time she was able to spend with them.

She was preceded in death by her Parents, Cleveland McCraw & Mary Wright; three Brothers, Barney McCraw, Alvin McCraw, Edward McCraw; two Sisters, Myrtis Polk, Bonnie McCraw; and three grandchildren, Austin Sellers, Destiny Sellers, Emori Lowery.

She is survived by her five Sons, Allen Turnage (Stacey), of Columbia, James Thompson, of Columbia, Damion McCraw (Jamie), of Columbia, Seavy Young, of Columbia, Scott Broome (Becky), of Columbia; her two Daughters, Sandra Lowery (Lavelle), of Columbia, Betty Thompson, of Columbia; and her loving companion of thirty plus years, Adrian Broome, of Columbia.

Ms. Turnage will be carried to her final resting place by those honored to serve as Pallbearers: Nathan Lowery, Ryan Lowery, Robbie Bond, Jack Lowery, David McCraw, and Cole McCraw. Honorary Pallbearers will be Camdyn Lowery and Landon Ledet.
