Obituary

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at Woodlawn Church in Columbia for Paul Franklin Tatum, 56, of Columbia, who passed away Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at Forest General Hospital. Interment will be at Highland Cemetery-Hattiesburg in Hattiesburg. Pastor Jerron Carney will officiate the services.

The Tatum family will receive friends on Saturday morning, beginning at 9:00 am until the hour of service of 11:00 am at Woodlawn Church.

Mr. Paul Tatum, a man whose life was defined by his deep faith and generous spirit, passed away peacefully. His love for his family was boundless, matched only by his devotion to his church and cherished church family. A true man of God, Paul found joy in both the tranquility of fishing and the thrill of hunting. He had a particular fondness for watches and knives, and the uplifting melodies of K-Love radio were a constant source of comfort and inspiration. Above all, Paul lived to serve and help others, embodying a selfless heart that touched countless lives.

He is survived by his Spouse of 2 years, Jessica Irwin Tatum of Columbia, MS;  two Sons, Alex Tatum of Hattiesburg, MS and Isaiah Dykes of Columbia, MS;  two Daughters, Ashley Love (Travis) of Lexington, SC and Jessica McDougald of Little Rock, AR;  Father, Paul Tatum (Debra) of Ocean Springs, MS;  Mother, Joanne Moschella of Houston, TX;  five Grandchildren, Emilie Thornton of Lexington, SC, Everly Love of Lexington, SC, Jackson Brunner of Hattiesburg, MS, Nathan Andrews of Little Rock, AR and Cameron  McDougald of Little Rock, AR;  two Brothers, Gregory Tatum (Stephanie) of Baton Rouge, LA and James Matthew Tatum of Ocean Springs, MS;  A host of nephews, nieces, and friends.

Mr. Tatum will be carried to his final rest by those honored to serve as pallbearers; they include Pat Penton, Nicholas Colvin, Chris Story, John "Dodie" Baughman, Andrew Hamil, and Caleb Irwin. Honorary pallbearers will be Isaiah Dykes.
