A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, July 18, 2025 at Woodlawn Cemetery in Columbia for Patricia McDaniel, 88, of Crestview, who passed away Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at Crestview Rehabilitation Center. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Columbia.  Pastor Scott Wilcoxen will officate the service.

Patricia was the only daughter of Earle and Demple, raised on Alberta Avenue close to the family-owned Church Street Grocery in Columbia, MS. She left Columbia to attend Mississippi College where she met the love of her life, Jeff.  Upon graduation, their lives involved many adventures and moves across the country. Patricia was excited for each move the family made and always worked quickly to make the "new" house into the family home.  She held many jobs throughout her lifetime from church secretary, teacher, real-estate agent, to salesperson for ladies clothing.  Her favorite job was managing a busy hallmark store in Biloxi, MS. It was there that she got to display her keen eye for merchandising and worked alongside of some of her dear friends. She deeply loved her Savior, Jesus. Besides making the new house into a home, it was very important to get established in a local church family.  Many of her friends over the years were dear sisters in Christ.  Patricia spent many years in study to learn more from His word. She and Jeff often taught Sunday school in various churches to young married couples and enjoyed the opportunity to minister to each of them. Patricia was an excellent hostess and opened her home to entertain.  And she was also a friend to many who was quick to call or send a card. She deeply loved her family, too, and took advantage of the locations where Connie and Keith lived to see new places in the world. She was so proud of her grandchildren and their life choices.  The great grandchildren were her delight, too; she loved to be able to watch them grow and blossom. Beyond all of this, Patricia possessed a profound appreciation for God's creations. In her last years, even though confusion clouded her days, she still marveled in the wonder of God's creation, enjoying the beautiful blue skies and flowers of their new home in Florida. Patricia was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church, Crestview and even though she missed Mississippi she made Florida her final home on earth.

She was preceded in death by her Parents, Earle Barron and Demple Rhymes Wilkinson.

She is survived by her Husband of 66 years, Jeff McDaniel of Crestview, FL; Daughter, Connie Plavnick (Keith) of Crestview, FL; three Grandchildren, Aaron Plavnick (Líadan), Hannah McCallum (Dustin) and Rebekah Terwilliger (Brian); six Great Grandchildren, Maxwell Plavnick, Theordore Plavnick, Henry Plavnick, Oliver McCallum, Ayden McCallum and Tara Terwilliger.
