Mrs. Jenkins was a kindhearted sensitive soul who loved animals, especially dogs. She contributed to the ASPCA. She loved to read and had a small library of books that she had accumulated through the years. She had various health problems throughout her life, which kept her at home most of the time, but she always tried to stay connected with family and friends by phone calls. She loved to talk, but not just small talk. She was an intelligent person who was interested in and knowledgeable about many subjects. She could discuss just about any subject you wanted to talk about. Most importantly, she was very spiritual. She was a Christian and a member of White Bluff Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her Husband, Grant Jenkins; her Parents; Herman & Ceil Smith Sauls.
Her memory will always be cherished by those she leaves behind, which include one Sister, Jerry Branton, of Monticello; One nephew Sean Dalton (Kimberly), of Columbia, two great nieces, Emily Dalton and Sophia Dalton of Starkville/Columbia; one stepdaughter, Melissa Tanksley (Gary Lee), of Monticello; three step grandchildren, Aaron, Andrew, and Alivia Tanksley, and numerous cousins and friends.
Mrs. Jenkins will be carried to her final resting place by those honored to serve as Pallbearers; Sean Dalton, Wade Reid, River Reid, Donnie Mullins, Gary Lee Tanksley and Andrew Tanksley.
The family would like to thank The Grove Nursing Center and St. Luke Hospice for caring for her during her last year.
