Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, September 3, 2021 at the Lakeview Church of God in Columbia, for Rev. Michael Robert Morea, 62 of Purvis, who passed away Monday, August 30, 2021 in Hattiesburg. Interment will be at Foxworth Cemetery. Revs. A.D. Gammill, Jr. and Jeff Revette will officiate the services. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm on Friday, September 3, 2021 at the Lakeview Church of God.
Rev. Michael was a passionate minister of the Gospel, and preached and taught the Bible for thirty plus years. Graduating from PRCC with highest honors, Rev. Michael worked for Logista Solutions in Hattiesburg, where he carried numerous certifications in his field of expertise. He had several interests and hobbies, which included being an avid reader, picking guitar, enjoying family time, fishing, drawing, and working on cars. Many can attest to the fact that Rev. Michael could "fix anything!" no matter what it was. He used his gifts to always help and encourage others. The family will always cherish and remember his contagious laugh, his love for life, his commitment to studying God's Word, and his devotion to his family.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, Joe & Linda Smith Morea; and one Nephew, Joey Morea. He is survived by his Wife of 44 years, Kathy Harvey Morea, of Purvis; one Son, Christopher Morea (Rebecca), of Purvis; one Daughter, Shannon Morea Key (John), of Columbia; one Brother, Jeff Morea (Brenda), of Searcy, Arkansas; one Sister, Donna Fortenberry (Ricky), of Columbia; three Grandchildren, Gabriel Key, of Columbia, Elijah Key, of Columbia, Rachel Key, of Columbia; and a number of Nieces & Nephews.
Pallbearers will be Chris Morea, Gabriel Key, Anthony Bolin, Jeff Morea, Elijah Key, and Nakia Fortenberry. John Key will serve as an Honorary Pallbearer.
