Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at Improve Baptist Church in Columbia for Mattie McKinney McDowell, 89, of Columbia, who passed away Thursday, August 19, 2021 at The Myrtles Nursing Home. Interment will be at Improve Baptist Church Cemetery in Columbia.  Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Monday, August 23, 2021, at Hathorn Funeral Home in Columbia, and from 9:30 am until service time on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at Improve Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her Parents, Rubel & Virginia McKinney; her Hsband, Wendell McDowell; and her Step-Brother, Hugh Wallace.

She is survived by her Son, Reuben McDowell (Traci), of Columbia; her Daughter, Virginia Belton (Melvin), of Columbia; five Grandchildren, Logan McDowell, Sawyer McDowell, Alyssa Daggen (Marino), Malik Belton, Jauan Belton (Yvonne), all of Columbia; and six Great Grandchildren.
