Born on May 8, 1942, in Marion County, Mary McLeod was a hard-working, straight-forward woman who lived life with an authentic "what you see is what you got" attitude. A dedicated member of Oak Grove United Pentecostal Church, Mary found great joy in tending to her massive two-acre garden and watching things grow. But her greatest passion was her family. She helped raise several of her grandchildren, protecting them fiercely and loving them deeply in her own unique, no-nonsense way. She spent most of her life in Marion County, leaving behind a footprint that won't soon be forgotten.
She was preceded in death by her Parents, Alcus Arnold & Addie Jewel Martin Williamson; her Husband, C.J. McLeod; two Children, Jerry Allen Broom, Debra Lynn Bourne; two Step-Children, James Ferrell McLeod, Gloria Cooper; two Brothers, J.B. Williamson, Arnold Williamson; and two Sisters, Laura Hedgepath, Faye Dunaway.
She is survived by her Son, William James McLeod, of Monticello; her four Daughters, Barbara Broom Tadley, of Florence, Mary Sue Logan, of Georgia, Annie Lois Dixon (Clifton), of Foxworth, Lisa Faye Nulish, of Monticello; sixteen Grandchildren; a host of Great Grandchildren & Great Great Grandchildren; and a host of Nieces & Nephews.
Mrs. McLeod will be carried to her final resting place by those honored to serve as Pallbearers; Damion McCraw, Cadyn Herrera, Bryson Herrera, Lee Singley, James Thompson, and William Tadley.
