Obituary

Mr. Mark Dennis Nolting, 77, of New Orleans, LA passed from this life, and into the next horizon on September 3rd, 2023, at the University Medical Center in Jackson, MS, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in New Orleans on February 22nd, 1946 to Charles Nolting and Rosemary Ann Nolting. He was a graduate of Holy Cross High school, where he was the Louisiana Allstate Noseguard in 1963 and a Member of the 1963 Holy Cross State Football Championship Team, as well as a member of the state championship wrestling team. He was a proud alumnus of Tulane University, where he achieved his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering. Subsequently he worked for U.O.P and later Murphy Oil. He labored at night for years- whilst supporting his family of 5-to achieve his Doctorate of Jurisprudence at Loyola University in New Orleans. For decades he represented the underprivileged as a public defender for the State of Louisiana. From his youth, he fought against prejudice and injustice for all. He was as mentally sharp, ruthlessly logical, and whole-heartedly loving, generous and compassionate, as men can be created by Our Creator. He was as handsome, inviting and engaging as men come. He was as strong as a raging bull, as wiley as a fox, and as gentle as a giant character can be. He had a great sense of humor and an infectious laugh that was larger than life. He was a self-taught musician who imparted his love of the full spectrum of music to his children, and grandchildren. He never hesitated to show his gentle and soothing affection to those whom he loved, and to those who needed it. On occasion, he was easily feared by the strongest of men, and - far more often - loved unconditionally by all . . . strangers and friends alike. He loved his family dearly, and he is now - and ever shall be - loved and deeply missed by all who knew him.

Mark (called Dennis by his Family) is proceeded in death by his Father, Charles Nolting and Mother, Rosemary Ann Nolting. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 29 years, Millie Nolting; sister Debra Ann Alfonso (Lester), ("Baby")Brother Eric Charles Nolting (Diane), his first wife, Evelyn Nolting and their children, son Marcus Marino, daughter Wendy Ann Nolting, daughter Robyn Mary Nolting, and his step-children, daughter Joy Lynn Houston (Reed), daughter Kimberly Diane Raynes (Bobby), son Kevin Glen Raynes(Laura) and all his grandchildren Savannah Le'anne, Luna Sphere Root, Elisabeth Leeann   Edwards(Paul), Ava Rose Marino, Olivia Grace Marino, Isabella Marino, Zane Stovall , Eden Marino, Jude Moree, and Abigail Leigh Raynes.
