Graveside services will be held at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at Foxworth Cemetery for Marjorie Beard Carney, who went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, January 22, 2022. Dr. Nathan Barber will officiate the services. Visitation will be held from 11:00 am until 11:45 am on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at Hathorn Funeral Home in Columbia.

Marjorie was born in Morgantown, Mississippi on August 14, 1935, to Mary Ellie Beard and Gaston S. Beard, Sr. She enjoyed reading, gardening, and spending time with her Family, mostly her Grandchildren. She was a longtime member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Hattiesburg. She was a former Sunday School Teacher, member of the Woman's Missionary Union, and she continued correspondence with Missionaries across the world through letters, emails, and prayers. Marjorie lived her life as a devout Christian woman until her last breath and would spread the Word of her Lord and Savior with anyone she met.

Mrs. Carney was preceded in death by her Parents, Gaston and Ellie Beard; her Husband, Jessie "Ron" Carney; and her Son-in-law, Richard H. Toombs. She is survived by her Children, Sherry Sibley Toombs, Donna Douglas (Paul), Timothy A. Carney, and Tina Carney; six Grandchildren; five Great Grandchildren; three Brothers; three Sisters; and various Nieces and Nephews.
