Obituary

A Graveside service will be held at 2:30 PM on Sunday, September 20, 2020 at Woodlawn Cemetery in Columbia for Margaret Magee Harvey, 91, who passed away Thursday, September 17, 2020 in Blue Ridge, Georgia. Dr. Bryant Barnes will officiate.

Margaret was born in Bassfield and graduated from Columbia High School in 1946. She married the love of her life, James. They moved to Picayune, where she spent most of her adult life. The two most important things to Margaret were her faith and her family. She possessed a special love of teaching children, and she faithfully served during her time at First Baptist Church Picayune and Calvary Baptist Church in Tupelo.

Psalm 116:15 states, "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints." Margaret was a woman of prayer, and the family found it so fitting that her last words uttered while on earth, was a prayer for her family. She entered the gates of heaven praying for those that she loved so dearly.

Ms. Harvey was preceded in death by her Parents, Howard G. & Edna Speights Magee; her Husband, James C. Harvey; two Brothers, Grayson Magee, Dan Magee; and one Granddaughter, Jennifer Sones.

She is survived by one Son, Dr. Ken Harvey (Trisha), of Tupelo; one Daughter, Linda Sones (Don), of Blue Ridge, Georgia; five Grandchildren, Jonathan Sones (Kathy), of Clearwater, Florida, Heather Sones, of Ashville, North Carolina, Kerri Kinser (Shannon), of Blue Ridge, Georgia, Angela Peppers (Kevin), of Canton, Georgia, Jeff Harvey, of Tupelo; five Great Grandchildren, Joel Kinser, of Blue Ridge, Georgia, James Kinser, of Blue Ridge, Georgia, Kaylee Kinser, of Blue Ridge, Georgia, Clara Peppers, of Canton, Georgia, Colin Peppers, of Canton, Georgia; two Brothers, Howard Edsel Magee (Carol), of Columbia, Frank P. Magee (Carol), of Columbia; and four Sisters, Ouida Bryant, of Columbia, Volia Gaddis (Roger), of Noxapater, Sybil Bullock, of Gautier, Linda Forsman (George), of Pascagoula.
