On December 18, 2023, at the age of 68, Marcy Regan Robbins peacefully entered paradise after a brief illness. Born on June 27, 1955, Marcy faced challenges early in life after battling and surviving encephalitis and meningitis as a small child. Despite these adversities, she displayed remarkable kindness, had a vibrant personality, and radiated boundless joy.
Throughout her life, Marcy enjoyed socializing, keeping up with her favorite television shows, and spending quality time with her family, particularly with her lifelong caretaker, friend, and mother, Marvel Ann. She was a lifelong member of Hopewell United Methodist Church near her home in Cheraw, MS. After Marvel Ann's passing, Marcy moved to The Grove in Columbia, where she continued to make meaningful connections and positively impact those around her. The relationships she formed with both residents and staff were countless, and her family is sure that her time there will be remembered fondly for years to come.
Marcy is preceded in death by her mother, Marvel Ann, grandparents, Ned and Mollie Bedwell Regan, and Howard and Emma Stephens Robbins.
She is survived by her father, Charles L. Robbins, sister, Melinda Robbins (Charles Ray), two nephews Chase Robbins (Kristen) and Christian Robbins (Corley), multiple close cousins and family members, including Debbie Bedwell, and several close friends, including Rose Thompson, Rhonda Gibson, and Lecretia Green. She also leaves behind numerous friends, both staff and residents, at The Grove, whom she loved dearly.
The family expresses abundant gratitude to Michael Bradshaw and The Grove team for their unwavering care and for providing Marcy with a supportive community where she could thrive and, in her own words, "live her own life" every day.
Pallbearers for Marcy include Chase Robbins, Christian Robbins, Michael Bradshaw, Robbie Gill, Danny Patterson, Lorne Green, Woody Pounds, Skyler Delcuze, and Tim Fortenberry.
Honorary Pallbearers are Percy Wray, Gary Wray, Ronnie Lott, Johnny Mickenhime, Larry Mickenhime, Chuck Pounds, Bobby Patterson, Ford Fortenberry, Loyd Earl Regan, Lonnell Pittman, and George Clark.
The family extends their appreciation to Hathorn Funeral Home for overseeing the arrangements. Prayer services will be led by Bro. Wayne Rice with family remarks from Melinda, Chase, and Christian Robbins and Michael Bradshaw. Burial will follow at Hopewell United Methodist Church in Cheraw, MS.
