Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at Improve Baptist Church in Columbia for Lula Mae Tagert, 93, of Columbia, who passed away Thursday, February 12, 2026 at her residence. Interment will be at Improve Baptist Church Cemetery in Columbia. Rev. Darel Daniels will officiate the services. Paula Powell and Mike Bennett will provide special music.

The Tagert family will receive guests on Tuesday morning from 9:00 am up until the hour of service at 11:00 am at Improve Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her Husband, Jesse Charles Tagert; one Daughter, Deborah Wenzler; her Parents, Rossie & Bessie Singley Stringer; four Brothers, Louis Stringer, James "Jimmy" Stringer, Herman Stringer, Albert Stringer; three Sisters, Inez Stringer, Laura Nell Culliver (Angus), Mary Lois Graham; and one Grandchild, Daniel Tagert.

She is survived by her Daughter, Lisa Simmons of Columbia; one Brother, Charles Anthony "Toney" Tagert; two Grandchildren, Charles Wyatt Simmons, Trinity Brister; three Sisters-In-Law, Frances Stringer, Minnie "Penny" Stringer, Helga Stringer; and a host of Nieces, Nephews, and Friends;

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Lula's memory to Improve Baptist Church in Columbia.
