Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, March 13, 2023 at Hathorn Funeral Home in Columbia for Lipton Joseph Rivet, 77, of Columbia, who passed away Thursday, March 9, 2023. Interment will be at Good Hope Cemetery in Columbia. Pastor Oved Dunaway will officiate the services. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Sunday, March 12, 2023 at Hathorn Funeral Home.
Mr. Rivet was a longtime resident of Marion County. He enjoyed sitting on his deck, drinking coffee and smoking cigarettes. He loved his family and his little dog Boy. Some of his favorite things to do were, mowing his grass and drink Billionaire Shake's from Good News Brewing. Mr. Rivet was very fluent in Cajun French and tried to teach anyone who would listen. He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.
He was preceded in death by his Father, Libby E. Rivet, Sr.; Mother, Marie Rivet; one Daughter, Tonya Rivet; four Brothers, Johnny Rivet, Kelton Rivet, Clifton Rivet, Tommy Rivet; one Sister, Isabelle Perez.
He is survived by his two Daughters, F

Pallbearers will be Libby Rivet, Jr., Christopher Rivet, Clay Rivet, Trey Rivet, Stephen Hibley, Greg Manton, Kyle Dykes. Honorary pallbearers will be Stephen Polk, Randy Cuevas.
