Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, June 21, 2024 at Hathorn Funeral Home in Columbia for Lewis Earl Broom, 71, of Columbia, who passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at his residence. Interment will be at Turnage Chapel Cemetery in Kokomo. Rev. Harlen Davis will officiate the services. Visitation will be held from 9:00 am until 11:00 am on Friday, June 21, 2024 at Hathorn Funeral Home.

Lewis was a longtime resident of Columbia. He served his nation faithfully as a member of the United States Army National Guard. He was always remembered as a hardworking individual; he spent thirty plus years as an automotive mechanic and many years with Georgia Pacific. He loved his family dearly and was a giving person always willing to help anyone in need.

He was preceded in death by his Parents, Charles E. & Lessie Broom; and two Sisters, Juanita Speights, Faye Bridges.

He is survived by his Son, Lewis Broom, Jr. (Laina), of Columbia; his Daughter, Tessy Browne (David), of Tylertown; two Brothers, Robert Broom, Darrell Broom; two Sisters, Charlotte Hibley (Duane), Barbara Langston; five Grandchildren, Johnny Johnson, Jr., Amber Johnson, Cortney Johnson, Malena Faye Broom, Mora Skye Broom; one Great Grandchild, Morgan Renee Johnson; and a number of Nieces and Nephews.
