Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at Hathorn Funeral Home in Columbia for Leonard "Pistol" Earl Polk, 61, of Port Allen, Louisiana, who was called home to be with his Lord and Savior with his family by his side on Friday, August 29, 2025 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Columbia.
The Polk family will receive guests on Wednesday morning from 10:00 am up until the hour of service at 11:00 am at Hathorn Funeral Home.
Leonard had a deep love for gardening and old muscle cars, but nothing in his life brought him greater joy than his beloved granddaughter, McKenzie, who was truly his whole world. He was of the Baptist faith and was baptized at Bethany Church in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where his faith guided him throughout his life.
He was preceded in death by his Mother, Venita Rebecca Prine Hix; his Step-Father, Kenneth Randall Hix; and his Father, Howard Earl Polk.
He is survived by his Wife of forty years, Melissa Sistrunk Polk, of Port Allen, Louisiana; his Son, Kenneth Polk (Ashley), of Gonzales, Louisiana; one Grandchild, McKenzie Polk, of Gonzales, Louisiana; four Sisters, Sally Brantley (Carmen), of Denham Springs, Louisiana, Georgia Walker, of Denham Springs, Louisiana, Trudy Trigg (David), of Columbia, Roberta Jo Patt, of Erwinville, Louisiana.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth Polk, Carmen Brantley, Derreck Brantley, EJ Sistrunk, David Trigg, Cody Trigg, and Christopher Patt. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Roy Prine and Johnny Louge.
