"Don" Armagost, Sr.
August 7, 1942 – December 3, 2025
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at New Life Fellowship in Columbia for Larry Donald Armagost, Sr., 83, of Columbia, who passed away Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at his residence. Don was a devoted man of faith and service. His educational journey began with an AA from Central Baptist College in Conway, Arkansas, and continued with Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Covington Theological Seminary, culminating in a Doctorate from Gospel Ministry Outreach Theological Institute. Throughout his life, he pastored churches in Alabama, Florida, and Mississippi, and served as Chaplain for Camelea Hospice, Enhabit Hospice, and the MS Training School in Columbia, MS, where he also held the position of Administrator. He shared his faith through his touching devotional book, "Along the Way-Finding Strength for Lifes Journey." Further ministry included service as a Minister at New Life Fellowship Church, teaching at the New Life School of Ministry, and most recently serving as Pastor Emeritus with A.C.T.S. Fellowship. A cherished memory was his mission trip to Haiti. Above all his accomplishments was his profound love for his family and his powerful desire to see others receive Christ as their Savior. Don will be remembered for his listening ear, loving and kind heart, and the compassion and care he showed to all those around him, and he will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his Son, Larry Donald Armagost, Jr.; his Parents, Charles & Ruth Wilt Armagost; two Brothers, Jerry Armagost, Stormy Armagost; and two Sisters, Geraldine Wagner, Betty Blough.
