Julia was a long-time faithful member of North Columbia Baptist Church, where she served in many different ways. She loved her church family and was always willing to help in any way she was needed.  She worked for Rutter-Rex as a seamstress and eventually became a supervisor. She also worked for the Government as an inspector for Pioneer (Aerospace) for many years. She loved being outside and working in her yard. She was an excellent cook and loved cooking for her loved ones. Julia always said God never gave her a child of her own but blessed her with choosing a very special daughter, Debra, and granddaughter, Kayla. She was also blessed with many nieces and nephews who she considered to be hers. She was always happy to babysit and help others with their children, all who were so special to her. But there are three very special girls she considered hers, Ashlee, Bailey, and Taylor; her Nicholson girls.

She was preceded in death by her Husband, Lewis Elwood Pittman; Father, James Taylor Holmes; Mother, Nettie Johnson Holmes; two Brothers, James Carey Holmes and Willie T. Holmes; three Sisters, Marie Nettles, Irene Holmes and Ellen Graves.

She is survived by her Daughter, Debra Culliver (Andy); Grandchild, Kayla Raynes (Josh); two Great Grandchildren, Maycee Raynes and Avery Raynes; A host of nephews, nieces, and friends.

Pallbearers will be Josh Raynes, Trent Nicholson, Mike Bass, Michael Bass, Michael Russell, Todd Pittman, and Duane Hibley. Honorary pallbearers will be Deacons of North Columbia Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made in her honor to North Columbia Bapitst Church.
