Funeral services will be held at 10:00 on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at Hathorn Funeral Home in Columbia for John Kenneth Morgan, 84, of Perkinston, who passed away Thursday, March 9, 2023. Interment will be at Morgantown Cemetery in Morgantown, MS.  Brother Trey Robertson and Brother Stephen Shiffer will officiate the services. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Friday, March 17, 2023 at Hathorn Funeral Home.

John was born the youngest of five children in Morgantown, Mississippi. John was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and attended, most recently, the Wiggins Branch. He served in a variety of positions in the church and was always willing to serve and help others. John had a great passion for building and creating. He began, at an early age, building model airplanes. John was an entrepreneur owning several businesses with the most recent being a designer and builder of commercial steel buildings. John loved football. He played football at Columbia High School. He was an avid supporter of the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College Bulldog football team and was a lifetime member of the MGCCC Bulldog Club. In his spare time, John loved gardening, camping and other outdoor activities and was an avid survivalist. He developed these skills and interests early in life as an Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America. He was a kind and generous man who would often take in those in need. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.

Mr. Morgan was preceded in death by his Father, C. S. Morgan; Mother, Audrey Mae Morgan; two brothers, Eldrige Morgan, Felton "Bud" Morgan; two Sisters, Ruth "Ryvers" May, Opal Morgan.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mrs. Wanda McDaniel Morgan; four Children, Michael Anthony Morgan (Deborah), Kirk Allen Morgan, Christopher Eric Morgan (Lisa), Sharon Renee Morgan (Wayne O' Quinn); 9 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren with a host Nieces and Nephews.

Pallbearers will be Billy May, Nick Morgan, Jonathan Morgan, Morgan Stoddard, Aaron Morgan and Caden Grover
