Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, May 4, 2023 at Hathorn Funeral Home in Columbia, Mississippi, for John D. DuBose, 92, of Sumrall, who passed away Saturday, April 29, 2023. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Columbia. Rev. Billy Woods and Rev. James Ochenrider will officiate the services. Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at Hathorn Funeral Home.

Mr. John served on U.S aircraft carriers in the Korea and Vietnam wars. He was the flight deck crew boss who launched and recovered aircrafts. He retired at the rank of E9 - Master Chief. Mr. John was a walking billboard for the U.S. Navy. He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. Mr. John enjoyed being outdoors, gardening, hunting and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his first Wife over 50 years, Mary Ward; Father, Luther L. DuBose; Mother, Ginnie DuBose; two Sisters, Jeannette Lutz, Dixie DuBose.

He is survived by his Wife, Kay DuBose; three Sons, Bill DuBose (Laura), Mike DuBose (Sandy), Paul DuBose; two Brothers, Donald DuBose (Vera), Frank DuBose; one Sister, Mary Wood; four Grandchildren, Skyler DuBose (Shana), Kaitlyn Stottler (Nathan), Ryne DuBose (Sharon), Lee DuBose.

Pallbearers will be Mike DuBose, Skyler DuBose, Lee DuBose, Ryne DuBose, Bobby Davis, David Graham. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill DuBose, Mike McWhorter.
