Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, December 28, 2023 at Dexter Pentecostal Church in Tylertown for John Everett Cave, Jr., 82, of Foxworth, who passed away Friday, December 22, 2023. Interment will be at Pierce Slocum Cemetery in Foxworth. Rev. Jerry Terrell will officiate the services. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at Dexter Pentecostal Church and again on Thursday the 28th from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.

John was a proud Navy Veteran who loved his country. He lived a long active life devotedly dedicated to his family. He had a green thumb, and spent his days caring for his lawn, many fruit trees, assorted plants and especially his dog Shadow.

Mr. John was preceded in death by his Father, John E. Cave, Sr.: Mother, Delores Cave; one Daughter, Irene Vogel; one Brother, Neil Cave; one Sister, Patricia Stanovich; two Granddaughters, Lori Bourgeois and Elayna Noelle Slocum.

He is survived by his loving Wife of 41 years, Elaine Cave; four Daughters, Lori Slocum (Chad), Lisa Magee (Clint), Tammy Burke (Steve), Michelle Cave; two Sons, Brent Cave (Natalie), Scott Cave (Melissa); twenty Grandchildren, and a number of Great Grandchildren, Nieces and Nephews.

Pallbearers will be Zachary Slocum, Jonathan Slocum, Mitchell Murphy, Paul Wiebelt, Phillip Wiebelt, Sr., Braxton Bolin and Trevor Slocum. Honorary Pallbearers will be Evan Magee, Michael Slocum, Doug Slocum and Troy Johnson.
