A graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, July 1, 2020 at Old Brushy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Columbia for Jimmy Elwood "Pop" Wilson, 78, of Florence, who passed away Monday, June 29, 2020 at The Myrtles Nursing Home. Interment will be at Old Brushy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Doug Barber will officiate. Visitation will be held from 2:30 PM until 3:00 PM on Wednesday, July 1, 2020 at Old Brushy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
He was a lifetime member of Hog Creek Hunting Club in Flowood, MS. He enjoyed many days hunting and fishing with family and friends at the Big Woods.
Pop was preceded in death by his parents, William and Myrtle Wilson; three brothers; and three sisters.
He is survived by his wife Faye Wilson of Florence; three daughters, Darnell Townsend (Ricky) of Columbia, Catrina Wilson of Madison, Cindy Burney of Florence; son-in-law, Jason Burney of Florence; grandchildren, Hunter Townsend (Nikki) of Columbia, Bailey Burney (Taylor) of Florence, Morgan Burney of Florence; great-grandchildren, Jake Townsend of Columbia, Wilder Burney of Florence, and Baby Asher Burney on the way; two brothers, Jessie Wilson (Jerri) of Pearl, Roy Wilson (Wanda) of Pearl; sister-in-law Gloria Wilson of Pearl; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Pallbearers will be Davis Wilson, Douglas Wilson, Mark Wilson, Luke Wilson, Dwayne Wilson, Darryl Wilson and Johnny Smith.
