Funeral services will be held on March 19, 2024 at First Baptist Church of Oak Grove in Hattiesburg for Jimmie Pierce Stringer, 73, of Sumrall, who passed away Friday, March 15, 2024. Interment will be at First Baptist Church of Oak Grove Cemetery in Hattiesburg. Rev. Greg Bennett and Rev. Adair Jernigan will officiate the services. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Monday, March 18, 2024 at Hathorn Funeral Home.

Mr. Stringer lived a beautiful life surrounded by his family and grandchildren whom he loved to spoil. He was married for 47 years to the love of his life Mrs. Wanda. He devoted 25 + years teaching AG Science at West Marion High School. You could find Mr. Stringer playing dominos every Monday night as well as working out at the Wellness Center, more so conversing with his friends.

Mr. Stringer enjoyed traveling to the mountains, gardening, and listening to gospel music. He was a faithful member to FBC of Oak Grove where he taught Sunday School. He fought the good fight and now he has finished his race. He will be greatly be missed by all who loved and knew him.

He was preceded in death by his Father, Frank Stringer; Mother, Flossie Mae Stringer; one Niece, Misty Ryals.

He is survived by his Wife of 47 years, Mrs. Wanda Stringer; two Sons, Michael Stringer (Amy), Mitchell Stringer (Mandi); two Brothers, Edward Stringer (Sonya Dale), Glen Stringer (Janice); one Sister, Nita Kersey (David); five Grandchildren, Zoey Stringer, Natalie Smith, Mendi Stringer, Micah Stringer, and Arianna Stringer.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Jones, Derrick Jones, Ashley Holmes, Glen Dale Stringer, Randy Steele, Jeffery Ryals. Honorary pallbearers will be Glen Bass and Bobby Davis.
