Jerry Pace was a lifelong resident of Marion County and a faithful member of Faithway Missionary Baptist Church and one that loved life. He was a Christian man in its truest form reading through the Bible many times over and living what he read. You would often find him studying the Bible, especially early in the morning. Prayer was a part of life. You could hear him praying in the bedroom, restroom, closet, his recliner, or on the porch. He used his time, talent, and money to bless and minister to others. Without a doubt, his main desire in his death would be for others to trust the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal savior. He realized the most important treasure a man can have is not in the bank, but the treasure you lay up in Heaven. Everyone that truly knew him loved and respected him for his faith, selflessness, kindness, humility, and generosity.
Although Jerry was an avid outdoorsman and loved to fish and hunt, his love for his family and others was second to none. He would often build things in his woodworking shop or with his welder for his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren or others. He planted a garden every year to share with his family and others. He was a hard worker and always stayed busy. Most of the time, it was helping his family or others. He loved to visit his family and those that would seldom have a visitor otherwise. His family never doubted his love for his precious wife of 56 years which set a wonderful example to be followed. He taught his children how to be a husband, father, grandfather, Christ follower, and much more. They knew his love for them was true and unbroken and that love could be seen in his daily life by his actions.
His family and friends will definitely miss him more than words can say. However, we know he is rejoicing with those that have made that heavenly journey on the street of pure gold. We also know he would love to invite you to his new home in Heaven!
He was preceded in death by his Wife, Lynda Carol Pace; Father, Woodrow Wilson Pace; Mother, Ellener C. Pace; one Son, David Allen Pace; one Sister, Patsy Nell Ford; one Brother, Karron "Bobby" Pace; one Granddaughter, Crystal Nicole McClendon. Mr. Pace is survived by his three Children, Barbara Goodman (Dale), Glen M. Pace (Theresa), Jeffrey W. Pace; five Grandchildren and ten Great Grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Tony Broome, Carroll Broome, Clayton Burge, Jeff Morris, Kevin Broom and Sidney Broom.
