A memorial service will be held at a later date for Jerry Roy Breakfield, 70, of Columbia, who passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2020, at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg.

He was born August 15, 1949 to Henry Roy Breakfield and Gussie Breakfield. Mr. Breakfield was a longtime resident of Marion County and most recently of Lamar County. A lifelong oilfield man, he was a Tool Pusher at Pride International before enjoying many years of retirement. He was a founding member of Trinity Lighthouse Ministries.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Roy and Gussie Breakfield and his nephew, Kevin Hicks. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Gwen Deal Breakfield; two sons, Jeremy (Jennifer) Breakfield of Austin, TX and Joshua (Sharelle) Breakfield of Lamar County; five granddaughters, Maggey, Presley, Abby, Sarah Grace, and Caroline Breakfield; one brother, James (Hedy) of Lockport, LA; two sisters, Mattie (Nelson) Hicks of Columbia and Linda Breakfield of Memphis, TN; best friend and fishing buddy, Johnny (Mary) Edwards of Columbia.
