Jeffery A. Gibson

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 12, 2026, at Woodlawn Church in Columbia for Jeffery Gibson, 60, of Tylertown, who passed into the presence of the Lord on Friday, October 9, 2026. Pastor Jerron Carney, Bro. Jerry Wayne Dillon, and Bro. Floyd Odom will officiate the services. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery.

The Gibson family will receive guests on Sunday evening from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Woodlawn Church in Columbia.

Jeff’s life revolved around his family and his church. He found immense joy in attending church and faithfully served the Lord through his membership at Woodlawn Church. He was also an avid hunter.

Throughout his life, Jeff faced many adversities. Doctors once told him he would never be able to walk. However, at just 13 months old, he began walking and never stopped. When asked about this, Jeff would tell anyone that God had brought him through it.

Jeff will be remembered as a loving son, husband, father, and brother.

Jeff was preceded in death by his father, Gatchel Gibson. He is survived by his mother, Glenda LaRue Gibson; his wife of 27 years, Julie Gibson; one son, Justin Gibson (Amanda); one daughter, Jinger Gibson; three brothers, Renee Gibson (Kim H), Renard Gibson (Rhonda), Kerry Gibson (Kim W); a granddaughter on the way; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mr. Gibson will be carried to his final resting place by those honored to serve as Pallbearers: Jonathan Gibson, Justin Gibson, Tanner Tullos, Tyler Gibson, Quinton Gibson, and Renard Gibson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Kevin Bailey, Renee Gibson, and Kerry Gibson.
